Educazione e formazione

 

Laurea in Medicina all’Università “La Sapienza” di Roma e spacilizzato nella stessa uniersità in Endocrinologia, Medicina dello Sport e Pediatria.

Tirocinio presso il Sick Children Hospital di Londra nel 1981e il Cornell−New York Medical Center nel 1984−1985.

 

Esperienze professionali e di ricerca

Il Dr. Marco Cappaè a capo dell’unità di diabetologia presso il dipartimento di Medicina Pediatrica dell’ospedale Bambino Gesu di Roma e Palidoro, è anche Professore di Endocrinologia Pediatrica all’Università Cattolica di Roma e di Endocrinologia e Pediatria all’Università “La Sapienza” di Roma.

Le specializzazioni del Dr.Cappa includono endocrinologia, pediatria e medicina dello sport. Le aree scientifiche di interesse includono neuroendocrinologia e genetica.

E’ membro di diverse associazioni, tra cui la Società Italiana di Endocrinologia e Diabete Pediatrico, la European Society of Neuroendocrinology, la Endocrine Society, e la European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology.

Membro della redazione del Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness e ell’ Italian Journal of Pediatrics, ed è revisore del Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and metabolism, il Journal of Endocrinology Investigation, e l’Italian Journal of Pediatrics for Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Clinical Endocrinology and The Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry.

E’ autore di articoli su riviste scientifiche quali Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Hormone Research, Journal of Pediatrics, American Journal of Medical Genetics, Neurology, e Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism.

Gli ambiti di ricerca coperti dal lavoro del Dt. Cappa comprendono test sull’ormone della cresita, andrenoleucodistrofia, adrenoiperplasia congenita e sindrome di Prader Willi.


Education and Training

He obtained his Ph.D. on Molecular and Experimental Pathology at the University of Torino, Italy.

He spent several periods in different U.S. laboratories, in particular he spent three years at the Department of Pathology , School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh PA, USA

 

Employment and research experience

Dr. Marco Cappa is Chief of Endocrinology and Diabetology Unit of the Department of Pediatrics

Medicine, Bambino Gesu Children’s Hospital in Rome and Palidoro, and he is Professor in Pediatric Endocrinology, Genetics at Catholic University of Rome, and in Endocrinology and Pediatrics at University “La Sapienza” Rome, Italy.

Dr. Cappa’s specialties include endocrinology, paediatrics, and sports medicine. His scientific areas of Interests include neuroendocrinology and genetics. He is a member of several associations, including the Italian Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes Society, the European Society of Neuroendocrinology, The Endocrine Society, and the European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology. He serves on the editorial board of The Journal of Sports Medicine and Physical Fitness, and Italian Journal of Pediatrics, and he is a reviewer the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and metabolism , the Journal of Endocrinology

Investigation, and Italian Journal of Pediatrics for Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Clinical Endocrinology and The Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Psychiatry.

He is a widely published author in journals such as the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism, Hormone Research, Journal of Pediatrics, American Journal of Medical Genetics, Neurology, and the Journal of Pediatric Endocrinology and Metabolism. Dr. Cappa’s work entails a number of interested topics including growth hormone testing, adrenoleukodystrophy, Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia and Prader Willi syndrome.
